Divorced, what now?

Divorce is a huge change that can be really tough. When a marriage ends, it often leaves you feeling lost and unsure about the future. Personally, I found this time to be both painful and confusing, but I also learned it can be a chance to grow and transform. I experienced deep grief and loss, a deep sadness over the end of the relationship and the life I thought I’d have. I felt like a failure, it was so hard not to feel like I’d failed or been rejected, which really took a hit on my self-esteem. I had to figure out who I was on my own, which was disorienting and challenging. It was tough feeling so alone, especially since many of my friends were connected to my ex. Having to start over in every aspect of my life. I learned why there is a word ‘heartsore’.

Going through a divorce was incredibly tough for me. Along with the pain and anger, there was a lot of restlessness and agitation. The future suddenly seemed really uncertain, and I felt completely unprepared for the challenges that lay ahead. Handling financial and logistical stuff, like splitting up our assets and figuring out new living arrangements, was an extra burden. On top of all that, I was dealing with a lot of emotional turmoil and anxiety as I was alone for the first time in my adult life. It truly was a whirlwind of stress and uncertainty, but I knew I had to find a way to navigate it all.
